This trip embodies the holistic nature of yoga. It satiates that inner explorer longing to discover new lands and rich cultures. It was created to recover inner balance through the enjoyment of movement, travel, food and wine.
Focus France is everything meant to rejuvenate body and mind while restoring the heart and soul. A 17th Century French Chateau filled with charm, luxury and heaps of history. A week of soul healing, body challenging yoga. A dining room laden with local farm to table delights. Wine glasses aching to be filled with world class Grand Cru vintages from an iconic region. These are just a few of the gems you will store in your memory bank for the rest of your life.
Unwind in the picturesque countryside of South West France
VINYASA + VIN RETREAT
Imagine this: the day begins with coffee and perhaps a croissant (because France) while you enjoy the quiet views that surround the chateau. Then flow through an invigorating and rejuvenating morning yoga practice to be led either indoors amongst exposed brick walls and sweeping barn doors in a warmly curated yoga room, or outdoors on a beautifully designed yoga platform set amongst farmland and flowers. A breakfast buffet will be set up after practice, and then follow this up with a good book while relaxing by the salt water pool, or tear yourself away from the stunning chateau to hike through the vineyards, or go for a bicycle ride through old-world villages. Fresh farm fruits, vegetables, breads, and of course cheeses will be served daily in the afternoon to enjoy to the heart’s content. Dive into optional excursions exploring nearby historic sites, picnics at the farmers markets, or snuggle up by a roaring fireplace with a glass of vino. The days will come to a close with a restful yoga practice - a combination of vinyasa and yin. And end it all with a multi course meal paired expertly by a sommelier with unforgettable wines from this world renowned wine region.
Retreat Leader: Jelayna Da Silva
Jelayna is a well seasoned, passionate yoga teacher who’s classes seek to embody all aspects of yoga. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual elements are infused into anatomically wise, dance like flows. Not to mention a dose of good hearted humour. Her philosophy is simple - teach with humility, compassion, curiosity and love.
This authentically restored chateau was built in the early 17th century, rich with history. There are 9 ensuite bedrooms, each uniquely decorated, brimming with character and equipped with modern amenities and high-end comfort, but will still transport you back in time.
The grounds include a heated swimming pool, hard-surface tennis court and 100 acres of protected woodlands with marked trails. Castles, medieval villages and historical sites dot the surrounding countryside.
